Oral history interview with R. Hubert Dalton. [manuscript]. 1967.

This interview begins with Mr. Dalton's education and his reasons for entering work at the Sheffield Steel Corporation. He was a member of Amalgamated Association of Iron, Steel and Tin Workers, Lodge 13, which later became United Steelworkers of America, Local 13, at Kansas City, Missouri. He briefly discusses his roles in the Steel Workers Organizing Committee, the Congress of Industrial Organizations, and the merger of the AFL-CIO. As a member of both SWOC and the Amalgamated during the 1930s, he fought actively against company unionism and figured prominently in the transformation of area Steelworkers from a craft to an industrial organization.
